Dari pengertian diatas bisa ditarik kesimpulan perbedaan yang mendasar dari kedua laporan keungan absorption dan variable. Perbedaannya adalah absorption ditujukan untuk pihak luar sedangkan variable costing dipakai oleh pihak dalam perusahaan dan diapakai untuk pengambilan keputusan oleh para manager.
